Hi All, just returned from a wonderfull 20 days at Loskop Forever Resort, being a social bank angler, I soon saw that the Loskop dam has so much more to offer if one has a proper bota to take the family out on.

I am thus in the market for a boat from which me and the family can do some sightseeing and some fishing.

The problem however is that I am CLUELESS when it comes to boats and will greatly appreciate any assistance herein.

I am looking to spend up to about R 40K for a 2nd hand boat that that will transport a family of 4 leisurely, off which I can do some fishing.

Preferably one with a good stability as I am a big man without sealegs.

Any help will be welcomed specifically with respect to the type of hull, boat size, enjin size and type of enjin for fuel economy.

Greatly appreciated

hi
you do not give much info on what exactly you want to do with the boat all i can say 40 k will not give you much maybe on single motor yes but twin motor defo not much also are you sure it will stay only freshwater fishing ? if not it will cost you a lot later on apart from that few boats available on sea fishing between 20 k and 200k search gumtree and also remember the bigger the boat the bigger the truck to pull all the best:fishn

Sorry for the limited info, I am a normal papgooier that would like to now and again do some freshwater fishing from the boat, so all I need is something small that can be used for recreational purposes like driving or floating around and stable enough to cast a line from and hopefully reel in a fish or two.

I was considering a bigger sort of rubber duck, heard they are quite stable? never been on one though.

Also have been on a deep V boat and almost bliksemed off due to the way it sways when you move around on it, so that wont work.

I will be pulling the rig with an Isuzu KB 300 D/C thus it should be something that she would be able to handle
