I caught my first couple of bass on popper yesterday.

They may be small, but hey, i got them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Deon dit maak seer as die papswaaier jou pakgee met die bas. Just for the record not a true papswaaier. Just teaching my two girls 3 and 7 years the basic's of fishing. But won't mind a 10kg + to come around for a bite.

Let me tell you the story.

Anthony started getting me into real bass fishing, i met him with a flyrod in my hand...
Then he tought me a bit about the whole worm thing....

Soon i started outfishing him and others...
Then he felt so bad that he gave all his bass tackle away and swopped it for papgooi stuff...... He didn't do bassfishing for a whole year....

Then i told him to stop his shite and start bassin again...
he's been having a good season....

But just to humble him again..

Top water bass fishing is a Lekker way of catching them.

It was one of my favourite ways to catch them from a float tube in the Potch dam...

Not a lot of things can beat a warm December afternoon with the setting sun light breeze on the water and sitting in my float tube with a popper on the line twitching and then that explosive hit....
