Well thats just a taste, I'll probably put these and more up in the picture section as not everyone will look in the welcome forum.

I should be able to find a few more , only problem is half are in RAW / TIFF mode ( up to 12 mb) and the other half are Jpegs but around 1 to 5 MB in size , so I'll have to resize them to post up here.

Thanks for the kind comments , Regards , BRENDAN.

Another ex pat, Byan with a nice Perth caught Tailor/ Shad.

We catch these off the beach over shallow reef on poppers and metal slices / spoons.

Yeah we work with the university over here to find out more about the fish, you can  tell their sex when their breeding (check to see if their carrying sperm or eggs) , we have tagged over 5000 fish and are now getting good data back on growth rates , distance travelled etc etc

That is very interesting - the tagging. Over 5000 is a lot of fish!!!! You must have created access to some interesting data on the various species? there is a lot to learn here...... stock sustainability etc.

I think that there are WAY to few people in SA with ORI tagging kits.

Billfish tagging is well practiced all the way up our east coast into Mozambique and further North, but with the high numbers of local recreational guys fishing from the side, I am not sure that sufficient T&R is practiced. (I generally release - with the exception of the odd shad for the pan, but have never tagged from the side).

Then again, I hardly get the time to wet a line..... That must change soon
