Good day All !

Its been a while since i have been on the forum, been going through it the last couple of days, and must say its good to be back !! ::S

I wonder if you guys can help i am looking for any information on Heartseas at the vaal we are having a club comp there on the weekend and i have never been there and it is the first time i am fishing competitively aswell !! so please guys any info would be appreciated !!!!

Dilly, you picked the most difficult venue at the Vaal to start! Heartsease are also known as HARTSEER....fishing's NOT good there this year. Very spotty. Masters Nationals were held there and trials also, fishing were difficult to say the least. Start one rod at 60 and one at at least 100. DON'T stay on the 60 spot too long if it does not produce. Distance casting produced.

Bait - you can use your basic Vaaldam dips and baits.

but just found out that it has been moved to Krugers because the road is to bad ! so will see what i can find out about this venue !

Much better, closer to Oranjeville...just look out for the potholes!!!

We had a league there end of September. Fishing was GOOD, most fish came out at between 50 and 65 meters...FX/Devilsfork, plain yellow float on both hooks. You can also try a garlic bleeding float as hook bait....if the muddies come on the bite, take off the floats on one rod and try fishing just plain dough.....sometimes the muddies prefer dough, and can push your bag.

Best of luck! I have got some nice fish at Krugers on Juana Mielies and Spirits mielies. Lots of yellows to be caught by making n nice feeding spot close by and using floaties and dough. Carp, barbel and grasscarp so covering the basics will get you fish.
