Howdy people

I need some info on Harties please. Currently what color is working and where the lunkers are hiding. Any info you can supply would be greatly appreciated. I know what color was working for the past 3 weeks but due to weather changes I think that might have changed

Was there over the Easter weekend.

My Rapala Fat Rap worked, and then I lost it.
I also lost a huge fish on my 4" Senko (Green and White)

I saw guys fishing around the bridge by the rocks from a boat and they stayed there for quite a while, so they had to  be catching.

Bloody hell, I cannot remember the name of the resort which is right there by the ridge on the side they were catching now....

I reckon stick to natural colours, they work well.

I would also say stick to natural colors. But the problem was that there were guys fishing Harties the weekend before the Easter weekend and they were getting on Black. So that’s why I posted the question to see what guys were using and when we pre fish I can try all that and find out what works.    That black pattern was running for 2 to 3 weeks. So will also try black when i pre fish

Were you fishing at Westlake?

What color was your Fat Rap?

No, the place's name started with a C I think...... Bugger, this is gonna bug me.

Anyway, my Fat Rap was the crawdad colour, the one with the mean eyes, the smaller one of the two sizes. I'm gonna get both sizes though.

I'll give you direction to the place :)

Get to the T-Junction from JHB
Turn Left towards the Engen
Turn right at the Total
Turn right at the Spar
Moer down that road untill you hit a resort....
At the end of that resort is a bridge on your right, there are some rocks to the right of the bridge... That seems to be a productive place

Is that the Oberon campsite? The entrance is just after you cross over the railway tracks? And there is the old railway bridge going over a narrow stretch of the dam?

Oberon..... That's it

Thanks for letting me out my misery lmao

If you are standing on the Oberon side facing the bridge, those rocks where the train bridge to the right seemed to be a good spot. Unfortunately we couldn't get to it. Also there is so much structure and reeds in that dam, I cannot imagine anyone blanking there.

Loams: The problem is not blanking. But to get big fish. Two or 3 weeks ago they had a comp there. Winning bag was just over 12kg and the winning fish was just over 5kg. So we need all the help we can get to try and place in the BETT event at harties. And the guys that won the Vaal event of the BETT was the guys that weighed in that bag and big fish. So we have our work cut out

My boet also caught one on his X-Rap, cant remember the colour. Our problem there was getting snagged, which is why we didn't use plastics or anything that sunk so often, they just got hung up. The Fat Rap floats, so when I got stuck, we gave it a minute and then brought it back.

I must really get the big Fat Rap, I'm sure them Bass will take it.

In any case, just be careful when you use your chatterbaits. Those rocks are pretty darn mean.

If I were to fish a comp there, I would certainly try the  bridge on both sides first, and then the rees on the banks where bank anglers cant come close to them.

We also noticed masses of Big Bass Launching themselves early morning until about 9 o clock in the morning, and then after 5 in the afternoon they started doing it again. Unfortunately they were not reachable from the bank.
