Any news about harthebeespoort dam, and what the fishing is like there??

any tips you could give me?? i haven't been there in ages... i use to go to De Rus alot...

The last I heard you still needed to fish wearing those yellow rubber gloves you buy at pick n pay for washing dishes and cleaning toilets... oh, and be careful not to get any dam water on your clothes as it will eat holes in them... Heard of someone catching something crossed between a bless hoender, barbel and iguana... Must be something in the water??? And no matter how many times you boil the water - don't drink it!!! Die DROLL is in die drinkwater... lol...
Only Joking... have'nt got a clue about conditions there...

Is it safe at Harties?I can remember going fishing as a kid with my grandfather at oberon and it was so much fun.In recent years I have heard of so many people being robbed of their belongings at harties and I dont consider it as a fishing destination anymore.

any updates on the security around harties???

Passed Hartbeespoort on Sunday the water quality still looks very bad, they have managed to remove the hyacinth but there is still lots of algae and sewage coming into the dam. I definitley think its not safe to fish the hartbeespoort dam.
