I've only got 8ounce but I can throw well

Just to add - when I had the Purglas /8 from Enigma I was throwing 10 ounce EASILY !!

Would say if you casting a TN50 or somin in that class then 10 ounce would be what you want.

The G-Loomis "fear no fish" logo on the rod, is that custom or standard? They might get into trouble for using it..

Congrats Boepens, but I doubt the lead size will matter as I doubt it's possible to bend/load a /8+1 in HMG :lol:1:fbash

Boepens how much more expensive do you think a G400/8+1 will be .I'm looking for a rod that has power yet can still cast something a fair distance a i think that a G400/8+1 should do the job.

How far do you need to cast at gonuibe point in order to get a fish,what sort of fish are there at gonuibe point.Raggies I guess.

Boet I got a 200+kg bag at the point last week on a 80m cast
A 400 rod is mostly not needed unless u going to fish a lot of surf

There r other denizines of the deep there and trust me u don't want to hook 1 on a 400
Theyl hurt u more than u hurt them

One of the Krause brothers was measured on a 140m cast with bait on a 330/8+1. Long drop on the weight and the tip speed is monsterous.

You can cast the 365/8 with 6-14oz

@ craig I've got a 8ounce mould and I'm making my sinkers with looong boom and long wires
Will try them first and see (they sit propper )

On Wednesday I saw the biggest waves I have ever seen breaking off shore by the east london harbor.They were huge. maybee 15 foot or more .I don't know why the sea was so big on Wednesday.
