Hallo almal.   Ek gaan koppies dam toe

Bruggie

Sealiner
So we ended up going to Tago and not Koppies as it was impossible to fish there.

Day1

We arrived at Tago and the weather was perfect. Sunny & no clouds. We started putting up camp and the first 2 rods was in at about 18:00.The first real run came at about 18:35 and was a nice carp of about 3 kg.Caught on honey/Tjop Tjop combo.
The weather started changing and we got a bit of wind and rain.3 Barbel rods went in at about 20:30( all small carp heads ) and left them aside and un watched.

Day 2

I woke up at 05:00 with a huge surprise!!! The hole of The Vaal dam was full of logs and trees and branches just were you look!!! It looked like a black cloud in the water. We could only start fishing again at about 09:00.The wind started calming and the logs came past in batches of about 2 hours. We could not fish with the canoe because of the trees coming down…before you get to drop your line it is stuck on a tree branch or something. So we had to cast and believe me when I say you had to be accurate. We caught about 12 fish for the day ( 1 barbel ) mostly on Plakker and Crazy Bull combo.

Day 3

Same story with the logs and trees. We caught 2 more barbel during the night…. 6.5 kg and 8 kg.The trees disappeared again and from there on until we left we caught them on Honey / Garlic combo. The fish came out regularly and in nice decent size for just casting. The owner ( Zorro ) said that were we fished that is about 10 m deep at about 80m. We had some fun with the 4 X 4 ‘s as some people got stuck and we had to help them and we also got stuck.

After all the fun and quite a nice weekend we caught about 35 karp and 3 barbel. This is now myself and Dawid & Morne.my brother and friend.

I will post some pictures tomorrow.
