Howzit guys well was working at haga yesterday and today so slept over at clients possie anyway took my dropshot stick with at lunch time went down and had a look water was nice and full so I decided to fish deadmans gully last night from 10 till 1 all I had was a box of pillie and a half squid so I get down and its not full enough yet now the plan was to have fun with blacktails and the like so rig up 1 ounce ball sliding trace and 1/0 daiichi hook made up a nice bait and put it into the channel immediate attention from tails after half hour had gone past they dissapeared wen all of a sardine buuuump flat and my sedona starts squeeling about 100 meters out around bricks and cut off wow !! So I carry on new trace and in the channel got 4 lekker tails for toofie bait and then bang again here we go into braid backing and cut off about 100 out damn wtf !! Try again almost on full drag bang vas zzzzzzzzzzz cut of no ways I'm thinking big silvers bud by one I'd been screwed five times and the bait was kla but jeez. Wat fun got the shakey hand after the second one ill be there next week again with bigger tackle hope they come and play cheeres

Hi BP

How far was the spot you fished from the hotel? Was it left or right?
I’m sure the guys fishing the Hagga comp this week end would like to know. Sounds like a shoal of cracker moved into the gully. It’s a pity you cant make the comp we have some fantastic prizes for the guys taking part. I’m leaving in two hours to go through and meet Nigel in East London. Please let anyone you know about the comp maybe you can make the next one. Thanks fro the post it’s sure to get the guy excited for tomorrows fishing we have had some good East in PE and the fish should be boiling.

i had the same experience at Haga a few years ago...in the bay to the right of deadmans called Beryls, was fishing with medium tackle at sunset looking for some Shad, got picked up on Pillies and ran to the left, heading towards deadmans, drag on full but no chance, went around the point and OFF!!!

I dont think its silvers i suspect some raggies...

ps: my nephew got bitten by a Raggie on the main beach in 2008....
