Eish one never knows

I built Moggy, but she is now in Cape Town.

I had her for 15 years, but I believe that the new owner has cooked one of the motors

Regarding the Gansbaai Dyer Island saga.

Its about 1,8miles from the closet shore point to the Island. What the poachers do is hit a patch of kelp then swim like hell to the next patch.

As someone once said "Hunger pain is a terrible thing":ssswim: Besides this has anyone heard what the alternative is to paoching perlemoen in this area?

Picking flowers at about R200 a week as payment. So it doesn't take a rocket scientist to do the maths.

Please do not get me wrong on this point. I am against poaching but the government seems to be doing very little to help to create jobs in this area, if anything they are making life more difficult for those that used to harvest perlemoen and seem to be turning a blind eye to those that are doing it in the open.

Do we really have a chance of ever being able to dive for perle's again as recreational divers in this country (how long has the 10 year ban been in place?)

The ban has done nothing to stop poaching, it only keeps the legal guys away.

It has assisted in confiscating two ducks in PE.

Bird Island has a fishing and diving ban and it only keeps the legal guys away.
