I have a collection of 339 bucktail jigheads for sale.

Buy this lot and you'll be sorted for jighead fishing for life!

Some facts about this unbelievable deal:

  • 339 jigheads.[/*]
  • Some lead, some tin.[/*]
  • Two styles: Ultra Minnow and Banana Head.[/*]
  • Some of these jigheads are tied with real bucktail.[/*]
  • Some of these jigheads are coated, others non-coated.[/*]
  • Those jigheads that aren't tied can be used with plastic worms or plastic grubs for bass fishing or saltwater game fishing. Who knows, maybe a yellow-fish takes it too![/*]
  • Total cost of this lot if sold at R25 per jighead (which is below shop price): R8475.[/*]
Breakdown of jighead quantities:
  • Ultra Minnow:[/*]
  • 1/8 oz: 27.[/*]
  • 1/4 oz: 10.[/*]
  • 3/8 oz: 15.[/*]
  • 1/2 oz: 68.[/*]
  • 5/8 oz: 84.[/*]
  • 3/4 oz: 19.[/*]
  • 1 oz: 22.[/*]
  • 1.5 oz: 18.[/*]
  • Banana Head:[/*]
  • 1/2 oz: 2.[/*]
  • 3/4 oz: 47.[/*]
  • 1 oz: 11.[/*]
  • 1.5 oz: 7.[/*]
  • 2 oz: 9.[/*]
  • Total jigheads: 339.[/*]
We've started up a lure fishing company (jigheads.co.za), and this is old stock we're getting rid of.
Jump now and grab it for a ridiculous price.
It's more than half of what you'd pay if you bought it from a shop!
Never worry about losing a lure again. If you lose one, you have a bajillion more in your bag!
In fact, perhaps you shouldn't buy all these jigheads. Where the heck would you hide them from your wife???
Cos let's face it, the moment she sees it, she'll think you've bought yourself three Christmas' worth of gifts.
En dan slaat die pawpaw die fan. Cos then she's gonna lay claim to that new dishwasher you promised you'd buy her.
And you'll find yourself mowing the lawn at the break of day, when you should be gooiing jigheads for fish.
So perhaps rather leave this deal and let someone else grab it.
Perhaps an ugly single oke who'll never get a wife any case, no matter what he does.
Yes, leave these lures to an ugly dude and go about your business. And buy your jighead lures for way too much money at the local fishing shop.

Ja, I noticed some of the hooks seem to be made of a different material and looks rusty. Might just be a bad photo/lighting? Having said that I don't look to good anymore )Who remembers the joke about the blind horse?) Hehehehe

Hi guys,

I posted those lures.

I also realised I made them hopelessly too expensive (after making a trip to one of the fishing shops).

So I've dropped the price.

And yes, some of them, if not most, are old and rusty.

I don't think I tried hiding that. Tried to take the best pictures I could. Please remember that Gumtree reduces image quality to keep post sizes manageable.

Any case, thanks for your input. Valuable!

Have a lekker evening and tight lines!

I actually thought your price was very reasonable. As for the rust...meh, it is salt water after all. I mainly shared your add because of your funny turn of phrase. I had a good chuckle!

Thanks Bos-Otter.

Appreciate the share.

I go overboard with my copywriting sometimes (but it is my job after all, and to be honest, I love gaaning mal).

All the same, I dropped the price of the lures.

We're anxious to get our actual business going, and cash is tight. That's why we posted all these old lures.

Tsa, I think, if taken per lure, the cost is actually more in the region of R7.51. But it's such a wide variety of sizes, and I don't have the brainpower to work out a price for each lure individually.

Writing is one thing. Maths? Eish...

And yes, we used a myriad different hooks too. We've committed to a specific range now, and use manufacturer's guidelines, just to keep things simple and manageable.

Thanks guys! Have a lekker day!

If I may be so bold, I'd like to make a request to those who would like to help.

Our site, jigheads.co.za, is not live yet.

I would like people to go through the motions of buying lures, and give me some feedback.

I sat down a friend of mine yesterday and told her that her boyfriend had asked her to buy him some lures for his birthday.

I sat and watched as she used the site. It's a real eye opener.

So, to those who wouldn't mind, and if you can, please visit jigheads.co.za and place an order.

As mentioned, the shopping cart's not live yet, so you won't be paying.

If you come across an issue you don't like, or if I've missed something, please advise, and I'll see if I can fix it.

Also please take note that the images I used on the site are merely placeholders, to be replaced by top quality images within the next week or three. We'll be putting much effort into taking good pics.

Thanks guys.

@blomjansie great idea and wish you all the best for the future .

how many bucktails do you get for R35-R60 as there is no total given when choosing.

so i choose chartreuse in a 3/4 ounce bucktail , price comes up R35 is that for 1 or 8 as you have 8 different colours to choose from.

on other lure sites i buy from you choose weight , colour and quantity.

just trying to clarify are they sold individually or in packs of how many.

hope this helps or maybe i just missed reading it.

Hi Frank,

Thanks for your feedback. Much appreciated. And yes, it helps a lot.

Our pricing is per item.

OK, so the system is set up thus:

  • Click on Banana Head Bucktails or Ultra Minnow Bucktails on the Shop page. (Or from the home page.)
This takes you directly to the product page. eg http://jigheads.co.za/product/banana-head-bucktails/
Click inside the dropdown box to choose the size.
Click inside the colour dropdown, which is linked to the sizes. In other words, if the size is not available in a certain colour, that colour won't show.
Once you choose the colour, a box appears below the dropdown boxes, along with the price of the specific size you chose.
You have the option of increasing the number of lures, but the price remains static (per lure).
You can then add this to your cart, and start the process again, with the size dropdown box and the colour dropdown box.

Perhaps I should add some text just above the dropdowns, stating that our lures are sold as single items. You think that might add some clarity?

Thanks again for your feedback.

Much appreciated.

Howsit guys, lekker idea you have there Jansie. Nice site too. Once you have pics up it will be even more ayoba!

I work for an online advertising company and we do a bit of web design & maintenance, and generally speaking, folks are a bit on the dom side when they have to start thinking for themselves.

I reckon it would be a good plan for you to specify and describe as much as much on your site as possible. It not only makes it easier for folks to navigate and use your site, but adds extra content and stuff like keywords which will improve things like page rank in search engine results, and page hits.

Thanks for your input Nic.

Yeah, I think I'll try to add some more info. Difficult to word what I want to say, but I'll try to make it more understandable.

Rule of thumb for anything: if someone doesn't understand it, it's not that person's fault. You need to make it more understandable.

I actually thought of adding each size and colour variation as its own product, cos that would be lekker for highly targeted PPC advertising (lower click through, better conversion, if I'm not mistaken), but that would mean creating a whole lot of thin content around the same item. Not good for natural rankings, in my estimation.

Thanks. Will don my thinking cap and try and sort it out.
