Ponta do Oura (RnR’s and Kayak fishing)
Ponta, as most people call it, is the southernmost point in Mozambique. It’s a beach town 20mins away from the South African Border, full of scuba divers and fishermen as well as party people who want to drink ice cold RnR’s in the sun. The fishing here is great with an easy launch most days and reef systems full of fish. You can fish at spots like Doodles and Atlantis off Ponta or you can take a short drive up to Malongaan and fish the quieter reefs to the north. This town is alive with people and there is always something to do.
I am planning a Guided Seafari to Ponta for a long weekend in August leaving early on Friday morning, 30th August, we should be in Ponta around 10AM and travel home on Sunday or Monday Mid-Morning. We will spend three nights in a luxurious house right on the beach. We can launch our kayaks right in front of the house. I will supply the food, bait and soft drinks for the trip. The reefs are alive this time of year with the target species being Couta, Tuna, Kingfish species and Bill fish. I released a nice sailfish in Cape Vidal the last weekend. I hope to teach you the different techniques on this trip specifically targeting different types of Game fish species.
We will try taking as few vehicles as possible so spots are limited. Please let me know as soon as possible if you would like to join me on this Adventure. Cost of the Seafaris is R5499 which includes accommodation (3 nights, 4 days) food, soft drinks, bait as well as hands on guiding on and off the water.
