Hey, I did not say that Thailand was cheap, just the price is fair. That R1800 included my a fair between Taiwan and Thailand and a 1200km round trip transfer. I did not mention it before, but that price was based on 2 people, not just one, so obviously then the costs are shared.
Based on your cost break-down from above that would make it roughly R1250 p/p p/day, as you do start the break-down based on 2 pax. R1250 pp p/day is an awesome price in anyones books Ryan, but R2500 pp p/day, that is rough! Based on the price break-down you have given us, that is just way too much. That = R3074 p/day for the guide, which if you break that down into a 14 hour day = R219.57 per hour, is that still unreasonable?
Please don't get me wrong Ryan, you are definitely entitled to your price, as it is fair, and I am not taking a dig at you. You are well known and well respected, and and you have shown in this thread you are not one of the guides trying to rip people off. I am sure the guys here would agree that it would be an honor and a real pleasure to have you as a guide. But to encourage fishing tourism, the prices need to be fair. Big up to you for trying to keep it that way!
