GT Ice cream cone plugs

Hi people,

This is my first post as a sealiner and I am excited to become part of the community! ::slr::

I recently bought some spinning tackle and my goal is to land a decent leerie from the surf on a plug.

I bought some of the GT ice cream cone plugs (1,2 and 3 oz) for this.

I don't seem to get much info on these on the forum - has anyone had any success with these while targeting leeries?

Thanks!

GT Ice-cream is one of the very best surface lures you can buy for a range of game fish, garrick definitely included. You made a great purchase, now all you need to do is put in the time, the rewards will come! In case you didn't know, the Ice-cream is best fished with your rod held at a 45 - 60 degree angle relative to the water, don't point your rod at the lue when you retrieve it, you'll get a much better action out of it keeping your rod tip up. Tight lines, don't forget to post pics of your monster leerie here!

Thanks for the reply and the advice EugeneC!
Now I am even more excited to go try them out.::jest

Besides the cones I bought a few of the needle nose GT ice cream plugs too - which one do you think will be better to catch my leerie from the surf?

Anytime mate. The lures come in a couple of different shapes, all of which have different applications. Here's a video that'll tell you everything you ever need to know about these lures from the man himself...

Follow the advise in the video and you're halfway there (the other half being finding the fish and landing it ;)). Enjoy!

Next time I'm in Langebaan I'll spin for those big elf with my Ice Cream plugs and Toby spoons. I'll probably hook nothing but windsurfers.
