Greets All

Been reading this fantastic site since I got back to work on the 7th of Jan. I only started fishing on 30/11/2007 and am now horribly hooked, pardon the pun. I don't do deep-sea or rock & surf fishing as I prefer to keep it to rivers and dams.

Since then I have had six little fishing excursions netting a total of 10 fish, all released.

It's an awesome site about an awesome sport and I look forward to gain as much knowledge as possible from the masters.

Welcome Pacifier

7 Jan '08 - 11 Jan '08.....................What took you so long to join? I know things are a bit slowed up in Slum Town but a delay like that is just not acceptable. LOL

BTW I am an ex Slummie and loved living in East London for years before moving to PE.

How is the fishing going in and around EL? I still have family down there and have been thinking about shooting down for a long weekend sometime soon.

Nahoon river appears to have plenty mullet while the Gonubie river is quiet, very quiet.

Was down by the Gonubie mouth for about 4 hrs yesterday and joined some seasoned veteren's. The only thing that was caught between the 3 of us was a tiny skat that was hooked on mud prawn.

I used to fish Christmas Rock, Cintsa and Igoda alot when I lived in EL.

How is the fishing in these places nowadays?

I haven't a clue duane, those places sound alot like rock and surf spots, a branch of fishing I have yet to attempt.

Bru, I'm still struggling to keep pilchard on a hook for river fishing.

But one day I'll attempt rock and surf. The mates down at the local pub all do it with great success and it sounds like a ton of fun.

Oh yes, apparently there by Gonubie Point by that big 3 story house seems to be a good spot there days.

:welcomesea: if you don't learn anything here on Sealine, then we'll learn from You, but Like I always mention, don't be afraid of negelecting your work, social and even your family life, it's what happens to Sealines (Hardcore Sealiners) plus our bankbalances goes for a ball of ..... not to mention space in the house for all the tackle.

Nice to have you around, there's alot of knowledge and willing knowledgeable members here, so just ask!  You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Well spotted that. No, it was acctually my first day of leave. I promised myself that I would go fishing so I bought one of those cheap combo jobbies for like R140.00. After about 5hrs of fishing, I was hooked, tossed the combo and went for something a little better.

OMG..... it started, you already went and bought something better, now's a good time to log off and never return if you value things like a healthy bank-balance, a loving family and space in your garage, if you can't leave, well then Another :welcomesea: will be in order as you're well on your way to become a part of Sealine like the rest of us are, ADDICTS, COMPLETELY HOPELESS ADDICTS (well me in anycase)...

Yeeeeeeees. This I have noticed this little phenomenon. My Visa card is on fire. Its amazing how every little fish trip leads to buying more kit afterwards.

But, thus far, its worth every friggin cent spent.

Absolutely Pacifier.

Other guys spend their money on their wives, their children, their homes etc.

Not us, we're smart, we spend every spare cent and more on fishing tackle!!!!!
