Stop just there and read carefully. I said I have not weighed any Estuarine fish because they must go to the scale, however I tagged 73 beautiful fish I could have KILLED for a little extra recognition from some other anglers. I am to old for that now.

I came to this thread because I thought I would find people here that believe as I believe. I now reserve my thoughts. Our image as anglers are as we behave out there. With my work, if I was allowed to, I would have bruized many a man believe me!

muscle cracker I think it is you that are not reading the post. if someone does not want to fish river angling because he has to weigh it at the clubhouse then why the f*&k do you want to do LTB (light tackle boat) fishing? How can you guarantee the fish safety on a boat and keepnets in said style of fishing? Yes I agree that I should have said in my first post that he is in the wrong section but please dont try and justify fish murder.

"some locals are allowed to collect for their comunities (natural mortalities) All fish are kept in keep nets and brought to a scale that is at the waters edge"

Obsession I did ask in my first post if you practice catch and release and in my second post what the weighing procedure is. and then you came up with this reply. So you are saying that you wont participate in esturine comps as you describe it in your last post but referred to it "river league" in a different post.

"I won't kill a fish" Now here is a contradicting statement. Please explain how you can guarantee the safety of a carp in a LTB comp when a keepnet is used and you already admitted that there is "natural mortalities". If im understanding you correctly you want to participate in a competition but release all the fish without getting the points awarded to you. Still you want to brag about the fact that you are in the top 5 anglers out of 400. Now if 1+1 added up to 20 youre tales would have made sense but sorry pal, you have been weighed you have been measured and you have been found wanting...

I did say I have no knowledge about carp. Never caught them before. What I do know is that there is a weigh in at 10H00 and again at 14h00 (end of the day ) to try and reduce stress etc. The dam is over stocked and very low at the moment(14%). What I wanted is cirtainly not what you have shown and on top of that I think it is best left there. You cirtainly don't impress me either. This forum is about helping each other and a way forward.

This thread went on so long about everthing other than what I wanted. I thought some kind Ou would have recommended a Vaaldam, Baby shoes or Rietvlei traces or some other ingeneneous trace. My experiences are you can have all the tackle and tips but it doesn't put the fish on the hook.

Do a search under general as alot has been said recently about conventional traces. This sub-forum is still very new and the guys are sorting out which of the older stuff goes where. Hope you find what your looking for.
