I have a graphite that i chipped on it's maiden outing. Four years ago I was convienced it was going to snap. There is a neat chip in the rod and a bubble the size of a finger nail. Many years and plent fishing it's still going well. I'll touch wood, but as the old saying goes, "If it anit broke don't fix it"

If it is a multi-pice, which section has it? How close to the ferrules (joints)?

I'd recommend to have it built up. Bills in Clairwood does an awesome job and that at a reasonable rate (won't bust the bank)
