Could anyone please tell :whisp me of some "lekker" spots to fish from my :kaykak kayak please?  Not to far out please, I don't wanne call Shane @ the NSRI to come and help me. I’m specifically looking for the Ketting and the Pioneer or any spot that I could get to from my Ski..

That's right, flatter us and see how many marks you get ;-)

I wouldn't recommend the pioneer on a ski - depending on conditinos, you can get the full current running over the wreck, and that will have you off Agulhas pretty smartly if it comes through.

I don't know about Struisbaai Doll, but we may know some spots in Seapoint.

It must have something to do with us wearing tight fitting rubber clothing.

Got to bear these things in mind...

Katvis, let me put you out of some of your misery, even if you think we should be diving in pink campo suits :)  (as opposed to camo suits).  The Pioneer covers a large area lying roughly parallel to the coast and you can get many fish species on it.  Marks I have for it are:

34d50.19
20d07.27

34d50.21
20d07.23

Your mates are a funny bunch hey.
I felt like I’ve being hooked for live bait. Hahahaha.  I just wane get to the wreck and get some fish. Thanks a lot for the info.
Species: Yellow tail
              :    ?

              :    ?

              :    ?

I know there is Yellow tail this time of the year.
I think it was 2008 when some of you guys from CT. Shot a Yellowtail of
+- 18kg there. I think it was the Stellenbosh guys.

They had there price giving @ Cheers.
What ells could I find there?
Why I ask, is a friend of mine is coming from KZN to fish here for the first time , and I want to show him, that we also have some fish to catch. He’s bringing some “Mackrels” down for me so I can at least put him on to some fish.
If you have some more GPS markings I would appreciate it very much.
Marking please, not spots. LOL

Thanks

Funny peculiar, not funny ha ha :)

You can get big cracker on the Pioneer, big tail (I know of one of 24 kilos taken there), lots of galjoen, rock cods, all the reef fish, big red stump every now & then.  So pretty much anything, really.  The west end of the wreck is the engine block which sticks out of the water, and much of the wreck is East of that.  Also get big whites there on a regular basis, so keep 'em peeled.

I don't dive Struis that much, so don't have marks other than the much deeper banks which you won't get to on a ski.   Maybe you'll get  aluck fmr one of the other guys here, but people tend ot be pretty tight with their marks.

Cheers,

Tony

Manus

Thanks for that but can you be more specific. Are there any GPS markings out there? The bay in front of the Hotel always looks good. But have never fished there. I’v had seen some nice Steenbras come out there from the side. Well we just have to try.

Thanks

Chris

Dont have marks but i know there is good reef in 10m to the east. but there is plenty of structure you can find with an echo sounder. the buldog might be good for yelowtail / garrick with the right conditions .  but watch the swell.

hope you come right
