gouritz river 1st of may

Hi all,

I am planning to get away for a few days to the gouritz river mpouth on the 1st of may.

Has anyone got any idea what fish i should be targeting and some good places to fish. We will be fishing from the shore and targeting edibles.

I was also at gouritz a few weeks ago, in the river a few nice kob,grunter and steenbras came out while they caught big sharks and a few musslecracker off the rocks.Try prawn and live bait in the river and red bait,crabs or worms off the rocks.

We might also be going to Gouritz the week-end of the 1st may.Take blood and moonshine worm from here with you prawn you can pump at the bridge crossing the river going to vleesbaai.You can also catch leeries in the river at the bridge using spoon or a toby.Most of them are undersize though but nonetheless good fun.
