Got this as a Xmas Gift from my brother, my son also got one from him.

we are gonna have SO MUCH FUN with the ROCKBALLIES with this setup.

If it is Berkley,I've got a Berkley Cherrywood,and so far it knows no boundaries and very versatile for elf,Chokka,Hotties.i have so much more fun with this 6ft 6 rod than 14ft rods as the fight is so much more rewarding & those rods take a lot of strain & come up tops every time.These Berkley rods are true value for money.

Hey guys just got the berkley air 9ft heavy.Any suggestions on a decent spinning reel Had to bust the bank to get the rod.For now would my diawa excellor 2500+ be good enough until i get a good reel suitable for the rod.Tried the both together doesnt feel that bad.Dropshot guys whats you take....
Sorry Niel g for hijacking the tread.Where can one get that rod and reel from Niel g would really like to put one set up like this on my desk at the office.

i wanna fish that little setup...theres always an absolute feeding frenzy of smaller fish off the jetty around here that would give me some great fun when the bigger fish are off the bite

My boet bought it from a "street vendor" that came round by the workshop, was in the R150 range

PLEASE NOTE
altough the reel turns, THE WHOLE TOP PART TURNS, so line cannot be reeled on and off and there is no drag on it either.

Better used as a "dip rod" for rockballies !

VERY VERY WELL MADE !

I have a Oceano 4500J, which is a very nice size for the Air 9ft. A stradic 8000 (same size as a 6000 but with bigger spool ... thanks Nepps) can also be used. It sounds big but isn't that big, and it's a bloody nice reel.

The Oceano is about R 1300 the Stradic is about R 2000, the Oceano is nice but the Stradic is DA SH!T.

BTW, how much did you pay for the Berkley Air 9ft and what is it's lure weight rating ?
