Jeez, check how small the tuna were back in those days! ;)

Interesting to see that plastic worm (AKA drop snot) was being used back then too.
Hhahaha,ja,then the tv fishermen claim they invented drop shot!!

The plastic worm article was written by my Dad, Bruce Truter, and I have been fishing with leadhead jigs (the correct name) since I can remember.
I only saw this now,and I was just about to say that must be Bruce Truter,i work for Sunny sports which used to be your dads place ,Truters sports I found a old river rod in the store which says Truters Custom rods with the name Eddie Grant on it,I suppose it was the client.Your dad pioneered artificial angling in Port alfred ,the okes thought he was mad when he used plastic worms etc, until they saw the results

I subscribed to Stywe Lyne/Tight Lines in those days and I has just finished school the year before. That article I read and re-read until I finally caught a kob on a Mr Twisty plastic in 1980 in the Keiskamma at Hamburg. That article started me off on a varied career of fishing for salt-water fish on flies, lures and plastics.

Anyone remember the Mr Twisty grubs? I found some in an old bag just last month and they are still good.
