Gonubie River - Tree stumps/Logs in the Water

Just a quick word of warning to Gonubie river users. I was drifting at Gonubie this morning and saw quite a few huge logs and tree stumps floating in the river, with some of them hidden below the surface. The biggest one I saw was just below Red Pepper B&B, which was about 3m in length with just a tip sticking about 20cm out of the Water. Be on the lookout and be safe

Hi just on another point of interest. I was just wondering if you guys still get swim prawns up the Gonubie river certain time of year? We use to get plenty back in 75 to 79 when I called Gonubie home .

Just cant remember what time of year they use to be plenty ??

Thanks for sharing with the guys, can be a disaster if you hit them on speed with a boat.
Oosie, the gonubie river is a wake free river, therefore luckaly no speeding boats.
I was drifting for some spotties the other day when a couple came paddling past me in a canoe, then these kids on a boat passed them and the wake tipped their canoe, luckily for them it was only about 1.5m deep.

It's supposed to be a wake free river. When I was paddling yesterday there was an IDIOT speeding up and down the river
