I have seen a huge Grouper in the aquarium in Hong Kong.......makes that fish look like a sample. Totally 'tame' divers had feed the brute during daily shows.

I do agree with you that it not a pretty picture seeing something so magnificent hanging from a block & tackle, but I only post them to show the true size of this beasts. Aplogies to anybody offended - these fish are actualy ranked as critically endangered.

We catch some in Florida and just a few in Texas. A friend of mine KCON, landed one in 2002 that weighted about 75 kilos.

There are a bunch in Florida and they catch them off live bait in the surf and under the bridges.
