Going up to Koperspruit for holiday. Want to fish the Limpopo. Any info on the types of fish in the river.

so far this is what i know.

Longfin eel, Shortfin eel, Madagascar mottled eel, Africa mottled eel, Rock catfish, Bluegill sunfish, Largemouth bass, Smallmouth bass, Imberi, Silver robber, Tigerfish, Southern mouthbrooder, Nemwe, Banded tilapia, Redbreast tilapia, Mozambique tilapia, Greenhead tilapia, Nile tilapia, Sharptooth catfish, Largescale yellowfish, Papermouth, Common carp, Silver carp, Purple labeo, Redeye labeo, Leaden labeo, Silver labeo, Silver catfish.....

It is only a pleasure, i may have left out hundreds of fish but this is the more targeted fish which are more likely too be caught

Hey i fished the limpopo for about 13 years now, and i never caught a tiger or Bass.They only seem to occur after beitbridge.Your best bet wil be kurper,makriel,catfish.

Where on the limpopo are you going to fish?

Back from Limpopo. Fishing not bad. Plenty of crocs around and the river is flowing very strong. Had plenty of rain. Caught 11 Makriele in 1-2 kg class. Caught one 15kg Barber who totaly destroyed my small Nicko reel. Fight lasted a good 10 minutes. A couple 1-5kg was also caught but a few BIG ones was lost.  All taken on fresh warthog liver. No tigers or kurpers. Also tried our luck for bass but nothing. Took the trow-net with for baitfish and netted what looked like Muddies, Tandemannetjies and small Kurper. Will post pic's next week.
