which one of these it the most versatile? the helmet one? want to use it mostly for snorkelling and fishing and maybe a bit of surfing?

If you are going to surf then you need to get the surf pack so it's R3999 for the Go Pro 2 surf edition or R3100 for the 1080 Surf edition.
