Hi guys

Just installed my gx300 on my boat.
going to be going out of pe harbour.
It came with some automatically programmed channels, which are p1-p3 ,6,19,22.
which channel is for port control? Or do I have to pragramme the channel in myself?

Thanks

They generally do use VHF. My  boat actually came with the 29meg system and was informed that it could still be used within pe harbour, so wish to use it untill I really need to get a vhf.

Hi,

I see this post is fairly old.
I thought it well to post some information anyway, just in case someone else needs this in the future.

Radio can be programmed for these Channels:
29Mhz - Marine Channels
  • Channel 19 (A) - calling and distress [/*]
  • Channel 6   (B) -  general communication [/*]
  • Channel 22 (C) -  general communication [/*]
29 Mhz - 4x4 Channels
  • Channel 14 - general communication [/*]
  • Channel 15 - general communication [/*]
  • Channel 16 - general communication[/*]
There is some more information about this product on this page from Killerdeals:

And also this from the suppliers:

6, 19 and 22 are the standard 3 ski-boat channels opened on 29MHz frequency radio’s.
Channel 19 is effectively used for emergencies and for calling – this can therefore be used to contact and engage port control.
The radio can therefore remain on channel 19 indefinitely and then one can switch to channels 6 or 22 to communicate recreationally with friends etc.
