Glow Stick/Luminous Jigs?

Do glow sticks really work?I've caught Chokka with luminous jigs and my question is will an angler have an advantage with Glow sticks?If yes,which colour would work best?

Apologies!I'm referring especially to rock and surf fishing using glowing devices.

I tried them the other night off Monwabisi .. still got takes from Kob - but one good thing .. it SEEMED to keep the damn barbel away!! .. maybe they don't like light???

I have heard of it working well , i myself has not had success in the few times that i used it .....

I put a glow stick on my sinker snoot when i'm fishing at night.

Helps to see where you cast...........

In the cape some guys catch shad at night by putting the glow stick on the hook....

Jasper-Which colours have you found working best as in the case of kob at Monwabisi for instance?Are they easily available at Tuckers or Suburban?And not having seen them as yet,do they come in different formats and sizes and do they come in a wide range of colours?

I've used them when fishing freshwater, for barbel at night, works very well! Caught both my pb barbel using small yellow glowsticks just above my bait on the hook snood.

i'm gonna try glow sticks on jigs next month in kilwa during day and night fishing 40 - 100m deep. will make sure other guys use exactly same jigs and action without glow sticks and see if it makes a difference

Somtimes at monwabisi a green glow stick in a piece of chokka will bring on the sharkies when nothing else even gets a tug.

At night i very often use a green glow stick inside my squid..it looks awesome..ps:u need to need sum floatation to tie the glow stick on to and yr squid bait is built around that base..a grey shark wil neva leave a green natural glowing squid..I have even saw guys using the big red glow sticks inside the whole chokka slide..

Thanx,guys,for the "Glowing"feedback.Will definitely add glow sticks  to my angling list when stocking up this week and hopefully give it a personal trial over the coming weekend.It's a nice thought for a early Monday morning of back to work.
