I have fished Roodekoppies consecutivly for the last 3 weekends.
Kurper are nesting and have lock jaw.
Bass in the dam are very tough and I have onely ever seen a handfull come out but when they do they are biggies.
Best place to launch is Dennekruin 082 820 3095 they have a tractor to assist with launching etc - hrlps not getting your feet wet etc. There are other Place to launch Hengelgronde but there is a kak corrugated road to drive down to get there but they have by far the best camping facilities..
Barbel and carp fishing is steaming currently at roodekoppies dam - Kurper and bass is a bit quiet

Yeah then you need to go to the hengelgronde.
When you get to Roodekppies comming from Brits there is a turnoff to the left as you see the dam that says KameelDrift take this then turn right at the T - junction.
Drive till the road ends here you will find the entrance to the Hengelgronde (this road is normally very corrugated) they have nice shady camping facilities the launch is also not to bad.

Where is Molatedi?
Molatedi use to be kurper mecca.Close to Botswana border.90km north of Groot-Marico.Illegals netted the dam out over the last few years but things are cahnging.My friend caught them during the last month with up to 300 kurper ranging from 500grams to 3.5kg.Had them locked up and burned their nets.They only got a R500 fine but the nets are expensive to replace.They will be back but he checks the dam twice a week and remove the nets.Few years ago it wasnt out of the ordinary to cath 200 kurper for a weekend.
