Getting landowner permission?

What is the correct etiquette for approaching landowners for permission to fish when you don't have a personal connection to them? I recently moved and I keen to get going again. Thanks in advance.

I am also curious, the only place I found was Little Eden Forest in Robertson they have 2 dams accomodating both bank angling and specimen angling. They are just pricey when it comes to their campsites at R1000 a night per campsite. Other option was Goudmyn on the Breede River.
