Blakes beach seems to make the news in the local newspaper allegedly for the fish it produces. With the exception of the jetty next to the indoor pool that has been closed to the public, I think the area is a bit of a waste of time. If you want to catch 'panfish', or maybe if your luck is in crayfish, try Rooiels. There is a spot which will produce nevermind the weather or tides. Second parking lot before you reach the river at rooiels. Walk down to the beach, towards the antenna. you will see the cove.
