Back home after an awesome time in Struisbaai.
The festival:
Wow is the first thing that comes to mind. What a great atmosphere greeted us when we rocked up there last night, after a stressful road trip. Boy were those stop and go on the pass a nightmare. snail speed, I tell you. All that was forgotten once we got to Struisbaai, though. Entering the competition was done in a professional and extremely friendly manner. I was made to feel so welcome and the high spirits of all around was just so good to experience. My only regret is that we could not stay for the prize giving as our tent got ripped due the wind and we had no choice but to pack up and return back to Cape Town. oh well these things happen and one just has to deal with it.
Fishing
We went out at around 5.30 this morning and I fished from Suiderstrand, close to the shipwreck.This was my first time fishing there and within minutes I had a bite and landed a nice kabbeljou of about 3kg. Not long after there was a nice one on again and I landed another kabbeljou of about 4.5kg. After that it rained quite a bit and eventually we had to pack up.
I will definitely be making another trip to this area and recommend it to all.
