Hi Guys, I have to say a VERY big thanks to all of you, for making the day possible and for sharing your knowledge. It is amazing how much a person can learn from 1) Observing and 2) Listening. (even after the brewskies, I could still put it into practice on Sunday.........)
It takes a bunch of very special people who make their learnings available to others - purely for the enjoyment of helping others develop in a sport they care about. And all this at no cost!!!!!
On Sunday morning, casting at the local park, not a single nest.....(there were a few "in the making" that I managed to feather before they became proper overwinds. I was also sort of accurate, short on distance but heck, this will improve with practice. Oh yes, I did also learn the value of thumb on the spool, not on the line........friction heated thumb has a very distinct odour, as well as resultant sensitivity afterwards. Relegated to "one of the things not to do..."
Jace, you guys were really amazing - DBN-JNB-DBN in a day.......the sort of dedication that is admirable. Again chaps, greatly appreciated.
I look forward to hooking up with you guys in the near future (both on and off the water), so please let me know when the next gathering is scheduled and I will see you there.
Best Regards
RoyBoy
