Garrick on lure in and around East London

Hi everyone,

I’ve recently returned from a very successful trip to the upper Zambezi where I was able to tick Tiger Fish off of my bucket list. I was very fortunate to have caught a 7kg tiger.

I am now on to my next adventure... We are going to Gunobie close to East London for a couple of days in December. I have been targeting Garrick in the surf for the last 4 years on holiday with no success. Is East London a good spot for Garrick? Can anyone help with spots or tips? I would love to tick Garrick off of my bucket list.

when an east changes to a west slide a live bait in a channel in the surf or off rocks into deep water.... that's the generic advice, I cant give specific advice for the area

Thanks, I dont mind using live bait. What bait would you suggest?

n lewendige elf or haarder is volgens die kennners die beste aas om hulle mee te teiken. Hiermee was baie groot kabeljoue ook al geflous.

Jy kan ook met plugs, poppers en lepels vir hulle (meneer leer) probeer. Hulle hou gewoonlik agter die laaste brander. Met hierdie metode sal jy minder deur die haaitjies seer gemaak word.

...You want to hook leeries on lure in East London area???.....Well arm yourself with some 1oz to maz 3oz chisel nose plugs and round about November time each year you want to go to Cove Rock.....Gonubie point when its a low tide pushing and not a big sea ...Kwelerga point....Bulugha Point....Cintsa Point and when the water is around the 19 mark and its blue gin clear you need to get there at pre dawn and be prepared to throw for 3 hours minimum....tight lines!!
