Garmin 721XS GPS combo issues

I have two Garmin 721XS GPS combo units which are 18 months old and have worked perfectly up to now.
On one unit the land area has become so blurred that it is not now possible to distinguish land from water.A software update has been performed but the problem remains.
The radar and sonar functions are working as normal.

A software update was performed on the second unit.
The unit went through the update process and a message in red type "software missing"now appears when the unit is switched on.The unit is now inoperable.

I have contacted Garmin support but the issues remain.

Has anyone experienced these issues?

Both units now functioning.

Basically kept the start button pressed on the software missing unit until boot holding message appeared and after several tries the software upload was completed and the unit is now working normally.(factory reset was also performed)

A factory reset was performed on the second unit and this sorted the map blurring.
Still unable to get the BlueChart to load but will continue working on this.
Seems that the map card is corrupted.
