The galjoen are coming in well Tsitsikamma area.check this one I caught yesterday
with vrottes down at natures valley. 2,5 kg and 49 cm.

nice, any idea if the "banded galjoen" tastes similar?

I have eaten banded galjoen but does not compare with the true galjoen.
And its bloody nice indeed!

thats for sure,I had to jump into the gully from the rock and wade across quickly to
avoid getting snagged or cut off . this fish made straight for the rocks  and had an initial run of about 12meters before turning back into the gully.
thanks to a set moving through the fish came in quikly to the shallows where I
could land him.lucky for me the gully was only about 3foot deep where I jumped in!
