I've been patiently waiting for the release of their new 3D units. It was supposed to be launched in the US in December last year, then January, then March. Well, its released and my buddy has informed me that he can get stock!!

Historically, Furuno has always made the BEST fishfinders and BEST radars in its class. Their Plotters how-ever has always been adequate, but not in the class of the Garmin. This has changed with their new 3D range. Looking at the demo's, its amazing just how far forward FURUNO has shifted their game!!

Hiya

I've read about Piscatus 3D, but thats about it. The price is simply waaay out of reach for the small scale angler/fisherman!!

The only 3D echo sounder unit i've used is the New Garmin 3d range.(can't recall the model) The problem is that Garmins fish finder component of their system wasn't great. They guy who owns the system,  runs a seperate Furuno fish-finder. So does my other buddy who also owns the same system. The feature they found most attractive was on the Radar. You can 'TAG' up to 20 vessels ( i think its 20) and the radar will track them the whole day, IF they are in range. This is an great tool as you can tag other boats and can see where they are through-out the day!! The downside is that your radar must stay on during the whole day........

MUCH MORE than you would think.
if there is no need for it, then don't try and create a need.
Don't know if I saw the same thing, but it was in the range of R 30000.
