Fund Raising For SASC

Hi

I know that we aren't supposed to post commercial stuff on the forum BUT

Meag relies on donations for her operation. The research that she does is critical to understanding shark fisheries.

The petrol for her to drive to and from Hermanus for last nights meeting is already a couple of hundred bucks.

It is time to translate all the strong sentiments into action, so reach for your check books or your electronic transfer settings.

Meag: Please post your bank details.

Mr Moderator: This post is really the exception from the usual stuff.

Dear all,
Firstly, on behalf of SASC I would like to extend a big thank you to JB for asking for donations & Reefman for allowing the post to remain on the forum - it is fantastic to have champions for our cause.

As JB mentioned, we are a non-profit organisation that depends heavily on funding to meet our day-to-day operational costs and to assist us with the execution of our research & outreach programmes. Donations do not have to be large - any little bit counts & one person's donation can make a HUGE difference to us.

SASCs bank details are as follows:
Bank: ABSA Bank, 67 Main Rd. Hermanus 7200
Branch code: 334812
Account name: South African Shark Conservancy
Account #: 4069445740

For detailed information about SASC and the programmes we are endeavouring to undertake, visit our website: http://www.sharkconservancy.org

Again, a warmest thanks to all those who believe in SASC and are willing to support our initiative.

All the best, Meag.

Thanks Tuna

It is easy to get worked up and write in on the forum it is another thing to put your money where your moth is.

Have you noticed how quiet this thread is.

And the answer to your question is: yes I have done work for free for SASC to the tune of a few thousand Rand.

thanks again

I take exception to  that comment boet! We are not all in a position to help financially, no need to get rude about it and try guilt trip people into donating money.

That's why stuff like this should stay off these forums or rather be locked for comment.

Apologies to anyone who has been/is offended by this thread.

Unbeknownst to SASC, JB posted this request and we truly appreciate his support. It is not easy running a non-profit organisation & all the help we get - either verbally or monetarily - is such a boost. Unfortunately money is the bottom line - one which helps all our businesses survive.

We do understand that not everyone has the financial ability to contribute to SASC or other conservation groups, so we most greatly appreciate the increased awareness of our organisation through this forum. Every little bit counts!

As offense was not the intention of this thread, let's try to move on & concentrate on the grander issues at hand.

All the best,
Meag

@ jb2 dont get your comment about doing work for them -did i ask you anything about you working for them...? maybe i'm reading this whole message wrong.
Before everyone starts moaning and bitching-can we keep this topic clean
If you can make a donation it will be great-if you cant theres many other ways to contribute, keep it coming

Hi

I was away for a few days and got back to see that my post was taken completely the wrong way.

I apologise for giving offence, it was never intended.

I was just trying to say that I would not ask others to help if I had not done the same thing myself.

Sorry again.
