fun in the nursary

This is long overdue. About a week ago me and BigMatt went to a nice estuary area in Richards Bay and got our fair share of fun on light tackle. These arent huge fish, or something to brag about

My grunter of 40cm (didnt have a measuring tape, I put it next to the rod and measured the rod when I had a ruler available. I would not have kept it anyway. It was nice seeing it swim away happly ever after when I put him back)

Great going there guys, I will settle for a small one, before not catching anything at all.
Big or small always a good rush.

@surfaMIKE. Use cutex ( nail polish ) and put a couple of drops ( marks ) on your rod, to be used as a ruler, then you always have a ruler near.
Its also easy to remove and wont do any damage to the rod

Agree there. Something is better than nothing

On the ruler issue, I used a black pen and marked the measurements on the cork of my rod and used tipex on the reel seat and on the rod itself. Its the first thing I did when I got home after that trip because Im so tired of guessing the length of a fish. Thanx for the tip tho... Will tipex damage the rod in any way?

No, I dont think it would damage it in any way. I havnt used TIPEX as such but the wifes CUTEX and that did the rod nothing

Thanx flippy. BigMatt uses 6lb mono and I use 8lb mono. The only reason why I use thicker line than him is for abrasion resistance because there are a few nasty rocks around there. BigMatt is a bit more braver than me haha. Also if a strong fighting fish (like that grunter) comes around, I'll be prepared, but still have light enough line for the smaller stuff

Simen, so far I havent noticed any change to the rod, so it doesnt look like tipex harms it in any way
