Lo everyone ...
I'm going to buy a jetski soon, hopefully with the aim to use it around the Natal coast ... BUT ..
Seeing that I'm living in Pretoria, I'm also going to start and use it for freshwater artlure fishing ... Is anyone in Gauteng doing it allready? Or might I be starting a new thing here in Gauteng?

Nice to see that I'm not going to be the only one doing it!
Wonder if there's anyone else doing it .. might be nice to hookup maybe sometime ...

Hi

We are a couples of guys here in Middelburg that do bass angling and flyfishing for Yellows in the different dams in our area. Unfortunately are jetskis not allowed on Loskop dam. Here is quite a lot of nice dams where jetskis are allowed. Still there is nothing like the Big blue sea. Keep on fishing

Hi Jetski Laaities

It is nice to see the amount of jetski fisherman are growing. It is such a nice versatile craft and fairly safe. We must hook up fishing freshwater and sea. We are having great times together with fellow chommas fishing freshwater and saltwater. We in Middelburg let the guys in the area know when and where we are planning to go fishing. If they want to join on a trip they let us know and we give the booking info through to them. Each guy is responsible to do their own booking and to get there. If we travel together in a convoy which makes it safe (especially Moz).

Would like to do tigerfishing at Jozini with the ski but too many crocs. We should maybe plan a boat trip.

Share dates with fellow jetski boytjies when doing freshwater or salt. We do a comp at Sodwana called the Myn- manne fishing comp in February every year. It is very nice with agreat atmosphere. Check www.myn- manne.co.za  for info.

Cheers I need to work a bit again.

Hi

I dont think a croc will go for you but the risk is there. You will most probably have bait and fish around you.

I have canoe'd a couple of times past crocs and have actually been hit by a croc in a K1 canoe. I was breaking records for a couple of hundred meter sprints but luckily the canoe did not sink. Crocs are "very skelm" thats why I will not take the risk.

I have never found a croc in the middle of a dam but normally will you not find fishing in the middle of a dam. You will fish in the red zone. Another way is to fish with a couple of boats around you.

Cheers

Hi PAJEROMAD

I will let the Middelburg guys know  about the trip to Witbank dam. I have work planned at the farm for Saturday but if we finish up early will we join up with you guys. Witbank dam is known for nice size bass  especially at the pumpstation area and reeds and grassline area on the east side.

Cheers

Hi Pajeromad

I will be in church Sunday morning but can make it the afternoon from about 13h00. What time are you thinking travelling home as the best fishing time will be late afternoon.

Cheers

Hi Sonix

I have also just bought a new Jetski  (Kawa STX 15 F) for fishing, both in the sea and freshwater.
I live in Jhb, just joined the forum recently and have been corresponding with Pajero Mad. As you can see, there are several Jetski fisherman
I have only just got the seaworthy (yesterday) so now that i am all legal will be trying out the rig this weekend. Maybe Witbank Dam ( Barnham Bay) or Vaal river ( Emerald Casino). I have caught quite a few bass from my ski boat in the Vaal river, but haven't yet had any luck in Witbank.
What Jetski are you looking at buying ?

Tiger fishing - Jozini.  I contacted NPB a few days ago and at this point in time NO JETSKI allowed. Quite funny when you have  seen some of the "boats" that certain locals use to take tourists out, also some of the outfits called boats that carry NPB blessing.
So when I want to tiger fish, it's my Ski boat.
Send a PM with contact details and we can chat, i can also give you some feedback on my experiences in buying my Ski.
