Fresh water species collection

I would like to know if anyone has ever “collected” fish species
I’m tired of just fishing for bass and trout. I’d like to try to catch as many different fish found in the South Africa.

Anyone ever done this ?

I have seen old Sealine threads on guys doing similar. For instance, one guy tried to catch as many fresh water species on lure as possible. The more species you tick off, the smaller the remainder of species become, so usually it involves micro lure fishing for small freshwater species.

Look for some of Aquadementia's older posts, he targeted as many species as possible (mostly salt) on lure.

Thanks for the reply. I will check out those posts. I’m just surprised that no one else on the forum has ever not done this with our diverse fresh water fish. It’s all good getting PB’s but collecting species now that’s even more of a challenge

A lot of artlure anglers have impressive lists of especially freshwater species caught.
