Have finally taken the plunge to convert to 4 strokes.
Have narrowed it down to Susuki and Honda.
Its the 90hp I am looking at.
Any comments and sugestions would be appriciated.

Hondas claim to fame is the 60HP and 90HP motors. They are incredible!

But both brands, good choice.

Completely agree with Bennie, both are TOP choices!
I have the 60hp Hondas which are just brilliant. The 90hp also have V-tec which is an outstanding feature. Whether this is just sales talk or not I don't know, but I have been told repeatedly that the Honda 90hp actually generates 98hp at the prop!

But to be fair, they were used when you bought them and you don't know what happened before you bought them.

Graig ,

I have ever owned 2 Stoke Yamaha's and have 2 pairs , the oldest is 25years and getting a new boat in the winter.

I know they are not the way forward and as soon as my Ship comes in will most probably be in the market as well ,

My heart is in a pair of 50HP Honda's , but if you cut thru all the BS and see Who puts their money where their mouths are my head Says Mercury .

Yamaha 4's - overpriced and the kids on the schoolbus says its not that special - 2 year warranty.

Honda - They have only ever made 4 stokes so the most experience with the technology. - More happy customers than not. - 3 year warranty

Mercury 4stroke - I have always considered Mercury "The Black Anchor" but have used some the last 2 years and must eat my words they are Awesome , value for Money and comes with -5 year warranty and a choice of Side or binnacle throttles.

I think Ultimately it will be what support there is, With a 5 year warranty at least you have a permit for 5 years to speak your mind if something does'nt work.

just as confused.

The one advantage that Honda has at the moment is they are R20 000.00 cheaper on the pair.
They also have a service agent in Port Shepston where my boat is based.

Thanks for all the feedback.
Anybody know which is the most fuel efficient of the two.

Now that Suzuki is also using Lean Burn technology, probably the same.

I would base my decision on the the best deal / agent you feel comfortable working with as both are excellent motors.
