Forwarding gear to Pemba

Hey guys, just a thought, does anyone know of a courier or freight company that can take stuff up to Pemba for us?
That way we would be sure that all our gear gets there beforehand, african airlines are notorious for leaving behind baggage and well if that happens it would be a total disaster being on a liveaboard fishing trip without gear

Open to suggestions

Eish bud... I'm sure it could be done but I wouldn't want to mess up a bucket list trip because someone screwed up at the couriers. I reckon the discipline that comes from cutting back on gear is character building

I had it when I went to Bassas. In the end, the plane was empty and they didn't even check weights, but I went in spot on (down to the last gram) and came out with lots of character and didn't once find myself thinking "if only I'd brought the kitchen sink"

Weight isn't really the issue here as excess baggage is relatively cheap.
Problem is bags not getting on the flight with you. What then?
This is just a thought.
Having Sent baggage beforehand knowing that your gear is awaiting you a week in advance brings some piece of mind.
I mean imagine getting there to find out that your rod tube didn't get on the plane and your setting sail withing a couple hours. Next flight is in 2 or 3 days time.

Ok. I get your point. I wasn't looking at it from that perspective.

Come to think of it, we were also fairly nervous of our kit going walkabout from the flight.

We also had another issue though. Our airline (I think it was LAM) simply did not allow us overweight on the flight. There wasn't the option of paying extra, so we packed very carefully (except Johan who had the kitchen sink plus a spare).
