If it a large one I would go to as big as a 6/0 because usually its the big Steenie that takes the crab

If the crab is smallish a 4/0 will do

On both cases make sure the point is proud, use a pin to anchor the hooh in the crab

Fanie, yes they are caught with plastic worm, quiet days when there is not a large swell and one ventures onto the sandbanks and then fish off them into a gulley.

Not my expertise, Ocean Hunter on the forum is more clued up with this than I am.
