Fluid Buddy or Chumani

I want to purchase a Fluid kayak, Buddy or Chumani. Just want to use it on saltwater rivers and just behind the breakers, where we can't cast. I am 50 and weigh 90kg. I am not interested to go out for a kilometer. The Buddy have the advantage in my opinion with lenght, weight and will fit my short wheel base Jeep Cherokee better.

I am staying in J-Bay but there is some places with calm areas to go out. Any advice please.

1. Synergy 2. Chumani 3. Not the buddy.. rather anything else.
I had a chat with a guy who owned a Buddy a couple of months ago. Apparently it does not handle the surf very well at all, being so short. He got dumped in the breakers more than once. His Buddy was only a couple of months old when he sold it to get a Synergy. I chose the Chumani over the Synergy because I got it for a bargain. I do think I will upgrade to a proper fishing ski in time, however. I will probably keep the Chumani for fun in the surf and crayfish between the rocks when I can afford an upgrade. If you can afford it now, I reckon you should consider a ‘proper’ fishing ski. The Chumani is slow, but very stable and very easy to handle, with just enough space for my fishing gear. Anything smaller is too small. As for your Jeep.. get a roof rack. It is probably not a good idea to load a kayak (sea water / sand??) in your car after a fishing trip in any case.

I will also vote for the synergy, have one meself, very stable, unbrakable and if You filled her with empty plastic bottles she is unsinkable, she can also handle a lot of weight, have a look at her closely also have a look at what I did to mine, I slapped on a 2hp outboard motor and it works great.
