There is a dam close to our farm that holds huge carp.some people claimed that there where sizes up to 30 kg.:wfishThe dam is very deep so a normal mielie bomb rig would not work.It would not be accesible by the fish and would therefor be wasted.What advice would you have for this?Type of floating rig or maybe a type of carp spinner.

thanks:::S

Akker I suggest you go onto the specimen forum and start reading, especially about the fishcare. A 30kg carp is a very eceptional fish and should you be lucky to hook one of these it needs to be looked after very well for future angling pleasure. These fish will move into the margins to feed so that is where you would need to start (my papgooi 2c). I suggest you get a seasoned specimen angler to go to the dam with you to have a look at the structure etc. Good luck with this venture you may have discovered a new dam that could hold very special fish.

If you feel the carp are in the areas of such depth but say mid water you can use an adjustable zig rig,

 but more than likley the carp will readly feed in the shallower parts of the dam where weed and a natural food larder will be.
