Flavouring/Scenting soft plastics

I been thinking long and hard about this.  I totally agree with the effectiveness of these type of lures at the right time, but they are expensive!

I know the gulp products are slightly porous, so the "flavour" is in them but what about aking normal soft lures, no matter what brand, and letting them soak in a strong smelling fish based liquid, like anchovy oil? Even perhaps pricking these or tryin to inject them with some thing?

Has anybody tried this and what are the results like?

All my lures sleep in the Berkley craw fish sauce, no matter what brand they are.

U can also dip non flavoured plastics in the mixture you are talking about.

FLAVOUR IS GOOD, it actually tastes like something and also creates a scent trail.

Hello Nick and neilg,I have been reading all of these postings on Dropshotting very keenly as I have not yet tried it but am soon going to do so. The reason for my reply here is very simple, if your lure is made from Thermo plastic or as LJ says in a different thread "Petrochemical" then without doubt you cannot taint or flavour it no matter how long you leave it in a mixture. You will smell the fragrance when its pulled out of the juices but by the end of the first cast it is gone. Nick might be onto something here with the pricking suggestion as the pin pricks should close under water pressure and may allow traces of the muti to weep out. I work full time with plastics and have even worked on Biodegrads back in the early 90's. I must admit that I do not know what the local supplier is producing but I would assume this to be highly plasticed pvc, I think the alternative would be Polyurethane. Anyway I wish you Tightlines and Nick if you do try pinpricking or injection please let us know.
