FIXED DOUBLE J HOOK

This pictorial shows a typical configuration of a double J hook trace for sliding.

The top (holding hook)is facing up (hook through the nose) and the bottom hook is facing down and with both proud will increase the chances of a hookup dramatically.

The bottom hook can be snelled or tied with a figure 8 knot

In this pictorial i have tied the bottom hook with a snell (workd with wire up to 440lbs

The process of tying the top hook is step for step the same as that of the knotless knot:

1. Line through from the back of the eye.
2. Wrap the trace line to the bend (not the gap of the eye) and 6-8 wraps down the shank.

Wrap the trace line up the shank (2 wraps) and then push it through from the back of the eye and pull it tight.

Both these knotless snells clinch the hook tight and the harder the rig is pulled the tighter it holds
