28/03/2008 friday.

i went out again to vic-bay this morning and was rewarded with 4 good size shad. In total i cought 9 sins yesterday. there where a bout 6 men on the peer and wat i could count the total shad 22/ kob 1/ belman 1/ black tail 1. total for both mornings was +- 56 shad /2 kob/ 1 belman/ 4 black tail.

There was a oldish man fishing with a 11 ft - t53 rod and shimano real that had a big shad on the line, he got it as close to the peer to pull it up, we lookt at the monster i estimate about 8 kg. the fish put up a brave fight to run again, so he let go as the tied was cuming in, he didnt want to risk loosing it because it was on its way underneath the peer. As you know Victoria-bay is a well known surfing spot and needles to say a surfer found it funny to enter the sea from underneath the peer and next moment i noticed that the old man was shouthing and swearing at the surfer, i then wanted to see wat was going on and i saw that the surfer had got tangeld in the old mans line and that from towe other fishermen, the surfer just turned his bord and bit of all the lines and in turn the old man lost his big shad. I enjoy the sea and respect it for her glory and belive that the sea is for everybody. but why would this A-HOLE enter the water where he can see that we are fishing? is it to be spietfull or just plain arrogance. please feel free to answer on this topic.

Heroldsbay was also alive with young fish, my 4 year old nephew caught a beenbek with his play rod and reel next to the tidal pool, almost snaped the rod and almost pulled the poor bugger in the water.

Make that a grapnel sinker!

Couple of years back I watched a jetski cut in front of a ski boat just before the the mouth of the Kowie River in Port Alfred. The water here can sometimes be hectic  when entering the sea and u really got to time runs right.

Anyway the idiot on jet ski would not let ski boat pass, buzzing across mouth in channel and needless to say the boat almost flipped.

Anyways . . . the boat then chased the jetski north in direction of beach so I reckon the jetskier thought he was safe and beached his ski . . . NO PROBLEM the ski boat beached next to the ski.

U can figure out what 3 pissed off fisherman who nearly capsized their boat and then were prepared to land it on the beach did to the yuppie jetskier!

There's a moral here.
