Well we have had huge swell and the area is currently full of dirty water and other not so nice things! We have been fish the area over the last month on paddleski and got a few Cuta and the odd knigfish. In shore there has not been much going on because of the state of the beach.

Hi Shikaar,

20/40, great reel, 1 of Shimanos best. I would rate it better than the Torium, cause of its durability. I don't own 1 any more,as I always upgrade my outfits due to league compo. Do own Toriums, twice as much care must be taken on these.

Seems like u looking forward to purchase the subject reel. In my opion/fact, I would eiter purchase the 20/40 & the other alternative is the Daiwa SL50 for monies worth. As these 2 reels have stood the test of time for both Shimano & Daiwa.

Tongaat , Westbrook if fishing very well with Pompano. All in the larger specimen catogary.

Hope my views assist u.

You can not go wrong with a 20/40. even the smaller version 15/30 as a majic reel, very robust and can handle anything you hook. remember that before all these fancy reels hit the market everyone used to fish with these reels and land fish. I only have my 15/30 and sometimes wish I did not sell my 20/40.

Enjoy

thanks guys.  i just bought a 20/40 and a torium. they both feel excellent( have to wait till nov b4 i can try them out though :X) one of my mates told me the same thing,he prefers his 20/40 compared to his toruim. well obviously the toruim (bcoz of new technology)will be technically better. i just wanted to find out from more people bout this reel.i also own a sl50,and if these reels fish as well as the 'slosh'(as they call them here in the uk) then i'll be more than happy. thanks alot guys. help much appreciated.  please keeped me informed bout the fishing back home.

kind regards
