Fishing - Strand

Hi Guys,

Want to go tonight to melkbaai in strand tonight, thinking about fishing next to the fence close to the river.

Going/wanting to fish with prawn, bloodworm and moonshine, any one know if this spot has been producing of late? Still want to catch a BIG Steenbras, my biggest still being 2Kg, at this very spot, but have seen massive ones come out here.

hi Junaid

high tide is at 18h27, want to pump about three/fours after that, then thinking of hitting the spot, checked out the wind there, gonna blow bout 19-20, hope you not afraid of some wind.

i dont want to fish this spot on high or close to it, have experienced hectic cross currents here, not productive when this happens.

where do you pump prawn? and how deep do you cast at melkbaai to target steenbras? waders required when fishing there?

Hi,

we cast about 80-100m at this spot. Prawn and worm at sunrise circle area, and lastly i always use waders when fishing, but suppose not necessary, personal preference.
